서울시가 다음달 3일까지 ‘서울시 글로벌 인턴십’ 프로그램에 참여할 외국인 유학생 인턴 31명을 모집한다. 이 프로그램은 2008년 서울시가 국내 정부기관으로는 최초로 매년 여름과 겨울방학 동안 외국인 유학생을 선발하는 인턴십 프로그램이다. 그동안 총 84개국 671명의 유학생이 참여했다.
서울시는 이 프로그램으로 유학생들이 서울시정에 참여할 수 있는 등의 기회를 줘, 외국인 유학생들 사이에서 인기가 높다고 분석했다. 지난 겨울방학 인턴십에는 30명 모집에 150여명이 지원해 5대1의 경쟁률을 보였다.
이번 인턴십은 2019년 7월 1일부터 8월 16일까지 7주 동안 진행한다. 신청자격은 서울 소재 대학․대학원에 재학 중인 외국인 유학생으로 국내 체류기간이 2019년 8월 17일까지 유효해야 한다.
선발된 서울시 글로벌 인턴은 시청 본청, 사업소 및 출연기관 등에 배치돼, 여름방학 기간 중 주 5일 하루 6시간씩 근무하게 된다. 주로 해외 정책자료 수집 및 분석, 국제 행사 개최, 해외 마케팅, 통․번역 지원 등의 업무를 맡는다.
특히 이번 인턴부터는 최종 선발인원의 10%(3명)를 법무부 사회통합 프로그램 우수 성적 이수자 중에서 선발한다. 이는 서울시와 법무부의 ‘외국인정책 업무협력 양해각서(MOU)’에 따른 후속 조치다. 서울시는 법무부로부터 글로벌 인턴십 최종 선발인원 10%(3명)의 3배수에 해당하는 인원을 ‘사회통합 프로그램 우수성적 이수자’로 추천받은 뒤, 배치 예정부서의 면접을 거쳐 최종 선발한다.
사회통합 프로그램은 법무부가 이민자의 국내생활에 필요한 한국어, 경제, 사회, 법률 등 기본소양의 체계적으로 습득을 목적으로 운영 중인 과정이다. 이를 이수한 이민자에게는 국적취득 필기시험 면제 등 다양한 인센티브를 준다.
서울시는 지원한 유학생 중 1차 서류 심사와 2차 면접을 거쳐 다음달 21일 최종 합격자를 발표한다.
문미란 서울시 여성가족정책실장은 “외국인 유학생들이 글로벌 인턴에 참여해 서울시정과 조직생활을 경험하면서 취업에 대한 경쟁력을 높일 뿐만 아니라, 한국사회에 대한 이해 폭을 넓히는 기회를 갖게 될 것” 이라고 말했다.

❍ Working Hours : Mon.~Fri. from 09:00 to 16:00 (1hr. lunch break)
❍ Wage (including stipend for transportation, food, etc.) : 50,100 won per day
